In addition to attending classes, adult learners may also be eligible for our free Tutoring Service. If you’re interested in working with a tutor and meet the requirements below, please follow Steps 1 and 2 to apply. LVGW’s trained volunteer tutors provides 2 hours per week of free, confidential and individualized tutoring in either basic literacy or ESOL. Tutor and student pairs make their own schedules and meet at mutually convenient public places in the community.
Tutoring Service Requirements
– must be over age 18
– must be able to make a weekly 2-hour commitment to meeting with a tutor
– must continue meeting with tutor for a minimum of 12 months
– must be able to complete in-person enrollment at our office
– must be able to take the annual assessment test during April – June at our office.
How to Apply
Step 1: Complete the Application
If you meet the requirements, fill out this application. After we review it, we will email you to schedule your in-person enrollment. You may also make an appointment with us online.
Step 2: Enroll In Person
Enrollment takes about 60 minutes and will be held at LVGW Office:

Step 3: Get Matched with a Tutor
Once you are enrolled, we will match you with a tutor who is available at your preferred times. We will contact you by email.
